Presenting the BRSCC

Presenting the BRSCC

The Brief

In the last quarter of 2010, we were approached by the UK’s largest motorsport club, the British Racing and Sportscar Club (BRSCC) to assist them with a new season “look” to be launched at the annual BRSCC Awards dinner.

They were looking for an impactful, stylish and dynamic design that could be used for a variety of vehicles and associated championships.

Into Action

Within one week of their request, we presented the BRSCC with five different design concepts for them to consider.

After they had selected the one they preferred, we started to develop it for the first upcoming use; the BRSCC Award Dinner. We adapted the design to produce both the dinner ticket as well as the menu, and also provided the BRSCC with a powerpoint slide template so the slides shown on the evening matched the artwork on the night, all of which was well-received.

Brand Extension

Then, as the BRSCC were preparing for a significant presence at the Autosport International show, we adopted the design to produce a membership leaflet, a How To Go Racing Guide and accompanying DVD artwork. As the BRSCC were displaying several cars on their stands from a variety of championships we further produced specification display cards for the cars and championships, all following the main design concept created at the outset.

Innovation And Speed

During the process of working together on this, we suggested that it would be of use to produce the spec display cards as handouts to give to interested visitors, which the BRSCC agreed to. When they then suggested to produce a special incentive handout for the show’s public days, we turned the project around in less than 24 hours (initial brief to signed-off proof), so all show materials were delivered together well in time for the show start.

A Successful Outcome

“We were very pleased with the work CMA Silverstone did for us” said the BRSCC’s Dominic Ostrowski. ”They not only produced good designs and turned things round quickly, they also really thought along with us in terms of what we were trying to achieve at the show and those suggestions were very helpful. The show was a big success for us and we generated more interest than ever before.”
